ARL0105.1 Logarithmic directional antenna 74-108 MHz Protel
The ARL0105.1 is a VHF log-periodic directional antenna for the 74–108 MHz band, designed with strong side-lobe suppression and a very clean radiation pattern. It is particularly suitable for FM broadcast (Band II) arrays and professional VHF systems where a high front-to-back and front-to-side ratio is required.
Typical applications include FM broadcast networks, high-performance VHF transmitting sites, monitoring and test installations and other professional infrastructures that need stable coverage, controlled radiation and robust mechanics in the 74–108 MHz band.

Frequently asked questions about ARL0105.1
Some common questions about the ARL0105.1 VHF log-periodic directional antenna 74–108 MHz:
What are the typical applications of the ARL0105.1?
The ARL0105.1 is a VHF log-periodic directional antenna for the
74–108 MHz band, designed with strong side-lobe suppression and a very
clean radiation pattern. It is particularly suitable for FM broadcast (Band II) arrays
and professional VHF systems where a high front-to-back and front-to-side ratio is required,
both in single-antenna and multi-antenna configurations.
Which electrical performance does the ARL0105.1 offer?
The ARL0105.1 covers the 74–108 MHz band with
34 MHz bandwidth, typical gain of 6.5 dBi,
VSWR ≤ 1.5 and 50 ohm nominal impedance. It supports
up to 500 W RF power with N connector and up to
2500 W with 7/16” connector, making it suitable for high
power FM broadcast and professional VHF installations.
Which polarisation and radiation pattern does the ARL0105.1 provide?
The ARL0105.1 can be used with vertical or horizontal polarisation (V-H),
depending on system requirements. It offers a typical E-plane beamwidth of about 70°
and an H-plane beamwidth of about 130°, together with high side-lobe
suppression and a very clean radiation pattern, ideal for controlled FM coverage and
multi-antenna arrays.
What mechanical characteristics and accessories are available for the ARL0105.1?
The ARL0105.1 has approximate dimensions of 1780 x 1600 x 70 mm and a
weight of about 7 kg, with an aluminium version of about 6 kg.
Ice protection is provided without a full radome. The antenna uses aluminium
elements, stainless steel (Inox) and Teflon; the ARL0105.1A version refers to
this aluminium/Inox Teflon configuration. The ARL0105F accessory is a mounting
clamp for 40–114 mm diameter masts with a weight of about
3.5 kg.
